Police & Youth Program: “Cops & Kids Unplugged” - Rocky Hill Youth & Family Services Bureau collaborates with the Rocky Hill Police Department to connect youth and police on a more consistent basis engaging in positive youth development activities which will build leadership skills among our middle and high school students and expose non-youth officers to the world of teenagers. We propose to enhance opportunities for youth and police to work together to benefit our community through youth developed, adult mentored community service projects and other leadership events throughout the year. We plan to incorporate our present youth group, the Rocky Hill Coalition, who will mentor students who have been referred to us through the Juvenile Review Board (JRB) and the Early Intervention Process (EIP), in order to infuse some positive connections into their lives.
